• Step Up Day is Friday April 26^th. We need 40 student Tour Guides to show 8^th graders around our school that morning, and another 6 or 7 student Presenters to address the 8^th graders at the middle school before they come here for Step Up Day. If you are interested in volunteering for this, please sign up in the Guidance Office. If you have any questions, please ask Mr. Sadiq or your Guidance Counselor. Thank you

• Come and check out the Playa's Ball Classic TONIGHT at the SPRINGFIELD BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB. The boy's game will be at 6PM and our own Delaney MacPhetres will be playing in the girls game which tips off at 8PM. It is just $5 at the door and we hope to see some support for Delaney.

• Step Up Day is Friday April 26^th. This Friday's movie night will be showing "The Martian," a movie starring Matt Damon about an astronaut who gets stranded on Mars and must use his smarts to find a way to signal his survival to Earth. The event will be held in the auditorium at 7:30. There will be food and drinks! Tickets will be sold for $3 during lunch and $5 at the door.

• Last call!  Student-written plays -10-minute or 1-minute - are due this Saturday evening!  Any ARHS student can submit work - check the auditorium doors for a full handout of details.  Last call for student jury applicants, too!  See Mr. Bechtold if interested.

• United States Congressman Richard Neal conducts a United States Military Academy Day each April.  This years informational event will take place on Saturday, 27 April 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Springfield Museums. If you are interested, contact Miss Garrity in Guidance for the registration form to submit by the April 15th deadline.

• Attention Man Pageant auditionees!!! Before we can confirm your participation in the Man Pageant we need to review your acts. Please send in a short summary of your act with any song lyrics used and a script to schoolsforafricaclub@gmail.com The lyrics, script, and act must be school-appropriate. Please send in by Friday the 29th at the absolute latest. For any questions contact auerbachah@arps.org

• Come audition for this year’s Student produced play, Vanya, Masha, Sonia and Spike directed by Sophie Schweik! It’s a Tony award winning comedy based on the themes of the classic, Russian playwright Anton Chekhov. Audition even if you’ve never held a script in your life!  Auditions are this Thursday and Friday starting at 2:45 in room 13!

• IMPORTANT MCAS INFORMATION: 
  Tomorrow is the second and last day of MCAS ELA testing.  Students not participating in testing will have late arrival at 10:45 a.m.   Students participating in testing should arrive by 7:30 a.m. and report directly to their assigned testing room.  Remember to bring a fully charged, school-owned chrome book and charger with you for testing. Any student who was absent for Tuesday’s MCAS session should see Mrs. Tracy in room 309 either today or after testing on Thursday regarding a make-up time and date. There will be no access to the third floor during testing time.

• BAYSTATE SUMMER GAMES!!! REGISTRATION NOW OPEN. Registration for the 2019 Summer Games is now open for most sports. Click each link on the website to be sent to each individual sport page and for a link to registration. If your sport is not open for registration, join their mailing list to be notified when it is open.  Competitions are in June & July. NEW SPORTS AND CHANGES Bay State Games has added events in the following sports for 2019: Ultimate, Pickle Ball, Foot Golf Orienteering - COMING SOON & Skeet and Clay (Trapshooting) www.baystategames.org

• Girls Leadership group: Please remember to meet with Ms. Haygood in room 117 @ 2:30pm TODAY, Monday March 25, 2019.

• Are you a sophomore or junior interested in pursuing a STEM degree?  Then the UMASS Shadow Day might be for you.  Attend a free dinner on March 26th where you will hear presentations from UMASS STEM students.  Then visit UMASS on April 3rd, attend classes, visit STEM labs and get a free lunch!   See your science teacher for more information and a permission slip.  Permission slips should be turned into Mr. Woodruff in room 227.  Space is limited and students will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

• Students wishing to use the library during lunch should come prepared with quiet academic work and should plan to eat in the cafeteria before coming to the library. Due to an increase in trash being left in the library, food is not permitted at any time unless eaten in the designated round sofa area. Thank you for helping us keep our library clean and open to students throughout the day!

• Seniors: Applications for the ARHS local scholarships are due on Monday, April 1 at 3:30 p.m.  So far, only one student has applied at scholarships@arps.org. Unless you submit your own applications, she will walk away with a lot of money.  You received the booklet of scholarships and the application on Feb. 26 in an e-mail from Ms. Ross.  Please apply!
