Seniors:

Remember, Thursday, November 2, is FAFSA Night.  This is the time to get help from financial aid professionals.  Come to the cafeteria before 7:00.  Bring your laptop or tablet.  Bring your parents’ 2016 tax return and all W2s.  Leave well before 9:00 with your FAFSA completed.  Tonight, get FSAIDs  at fafsa.ed.gov, for both you and for your parent(s)


Attention French students:  If you are interested in hosting a French Exchange student from Valence, France next March and April, please stop by room 150 after school on Thursday for a very brief meeting (10 minutes maximum!).  Merci Madame Stankiewicz

There will be a Preseason Girls Basketball meeting  today at 3:00 in Room 117.

Did you know the International Students Club (ISC) meets every Thursday in room 145 at 3:00? New members always welcome!
ISC is still collecting donations for UNICEF, the United Nations International Children's Fund.  You can donate and make a difference by placing any amount into the orange Trick-or-Treat collection boxes.

Seniors - if you signed up for the Westfield State Field trip be sure you get a permission slip.  They were put in your A period teachers' mailboxes.  Or, you can get one from Mrs. Cappelli in the Guidance Office.



Super excited to announce that the Field Hockey team has advanced to the MIAA Playoffs!!!  Please go to cheer the Lady Canes on at Holyoke High School in the MIAA Quarter Final Match Up at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 2nd!!!!

Next week at all lunches Women's Rights Club will be providing space for people to participate in the #MeToo campaign. Come to the table at any lunch to write down your story--these will be anonymously displayed as a work of art around the school the following week. This is an opportunity to share your story and/or learn more about the different forms that harassment takes.

Are you interested in social justice? Would you like to do some anti-racism work? Would you like to help out in a current humanitarian crisis? Then come make a difference for the people of Puerto Rico, many of whom, right this moment, are hungry and have no clean water to drink! We'll do relevant work that will make a difference. Please join us every Tuesday at 3:00 PM in Ms. Vicente's room, 146: LATINOS UNIDOS POR PUERTO RICO. 

ARHS 3rd French/Francophone Dinner: Come enjoy a night of exciting cultural experience and delicious French cuisine presented by the ARHS French and Culinary Arts students. The cultural show will include students’ research presentations, art exhibits, skits, folk tale presentations, music, singing, dancing, poetry, trivia, a fashion show, and much more! All proceeds will be donated to the French club activity fund. Email Jamie Simonson at simonsonjj@arps.org to buy a ticket today! $10 adults/$5 students/free for kids under 5. Dinner is on Thursday December 7 from 5:30-7:30 pm in the ARHS cafeteria.

The Westfield State visit that was supposed to be Mondayy will be rescheduled.  Watch for an announcement.

Come hang out and make new friends at Best Buddies on Tuesday, October 31st! Starting at 3:00, we will be having our very own Halloween party, with tasty snacks provided and paint for decorating pumpkins. We will also be watching a Halloween themed movie! October 31st at 3:00 pm in the PIP room.

Since tomorrow (Tuesday) is Halloween, Latinos Unidos por Puerto Rico will be meeting on Thursday, November 2nd instead. Happy trick or treating! ðŸŽƒ

Come to the first ever general meeting of the Refugees in Distress club on Tuesday, October 31st at 3:00 in room 325 (Leopold) to read background articles, plan actions, and become part of the vibrant valley refugee relief effort.

Interested in winter wrestling?  We have a co-op with Granby!  Paperwork is in the AD's Office.

There will be a pre-season informational Ice Hockey meeting TODAY at 3:00 p.m. in Room 117.

Come hang out and make new friends at Best Buddies on Tuesday, October 31st! Starting at 3:00, we will be having our very own Halloween party, with tasty snacks provided and paint for decorating pumpkins. We will also be watching a Halloween themed movie! October 31st at 3:00 pm in the PIP room.

If you are a senior interested in learning more about Westfield State University, think about going to the ARHS field trip there on Thursday, November 16, to learn about their excellent academic & extra curricular programs. It includes a free credit-bearing summer program and a support system for students during all four years of college.  If this sounds good to you, please see Mrs. Cappelli in guidance by this Friday to put your name on a list of interested students.

The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts is looking for volunteers to help at the Farmers Markets in Amherst and Northampton on Saturdayymornings. It's specifically for helping people get reimbursed for the fresh produce they purchase.  See the Job Book in the Guidance Office for more information.


Seniors! Yearbook portraits are due today -Friday the 27th of October. Please email them to yearbook@arps.org. If you don't submit a photo, we'll be happy to use your school ID photo in the yearbook. If you haven't sent us a baby picture, please do so. If you don't send us a baby photos, we'll use your freshman ID portrait. Thanks!


Over the next two weeks the International Students Club will be raising money for UNICEF.  Please support this campaign by placing any amount into the orange Trick-or-Treat collection boxes that club members are carrying around. If every student donated one dollar we could provide 100 families with clean water.  Donate today!


The Hatfield Foodbank is looking for volunteers this weekend at the Six Flags "Fill a Hearse" food drive on Saturday, October 28thand Sunday, October 29th. As a volunteer, you will be stationed at the entrance to the park to collect food item donations as people enter. There are three available shifts, and all volunteers may come early or stay late to enjoy free entry to the park. The park closes at 9pm that evening.
2 people needed per shift
11am-2pm
2pm-5pm (1 slot still available for this shift)
5pm-7:30pm
