Calling all student musicians! If you might be interested in joining band or jazz band for next year, contact Ms. Nye at nyek@arps.org or stop by the band room (room 20) for details. All percussion, woodwind, and brass players are welcome - and we need guitar, bass, and keyboard players!

On Friday, March 2nd, all seniors will report directly to the Gym for the Senior Assembly there, beginning promptly at 7:45. (To be very clear--you should NOT go to your A period class first. Instead, go to the Gym.)

Are you interested in speaking with your local legislators about the issues that matter most to you? Join us in the ARHS Library on Friday, March 2nd from 3pm-5:30pm for roundtable discussions with folks like Representative Solomon Goldstein-Rose, Senator Stan Rosenberg, and Congressman Jim McGovern. Whether you are planning to enter the workforce or attend college, this will help you explore possibilities!  We are lucky to have this given here at ARHS on Wednesday, March 14th at 12:00 (it's an early release day) Sign up in the Guidance Office if you want to take the ASVAB.

The League of Women Voters Amherst will be at the cafeteria on Thursday during all 3 lunch periods with information on how to register to vote in the upcoming Amherst Town Election.  You can register on the spot or find out how to do it online.  If you are 18 on or before March 27th, you can vote.  But you have to be registered!  The deadline for Amherst residents is March 7th and voters from surrounding communities can also register at this time, staff included!

Latin Students: We will have review sessions for the National Latin Exam at 2:30 on Tuesday and Thursday this weekain Room 149.

Everyone at ARHS should get to The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a musical unlike any other we have done here.  Featuring the work of over 130 students, hidden pre-show scenes around the performing arts wing, and live audience volunteer spellers each night, this will be one for the ages.  Tickets can be purchased online (see the posters around school) or at lunch during show week. Can't afford a ticket?  See Mr. Bechtold and we'll help you out.  March 8-10 - see you then!

Does the idea of sliding down fireman’s poles, collecting tears, playing duck duck goose, or turning into almonds excite you? If so, come to an informational meeting about The Melancholy Play, this year’s second Student Produced Production on March 1st after school in the auditorium. Come to a short meeting on Thursday, March 1st, 2018 for important information about  the upcoming trip to Greece, Italy and Spain.  Roommate requests and passport information need to be submitted soon.   Meeting takes place in Rm. 127 at  6:00 pm evening.  See Mr. Jean if you cannot make this meeting with your parents.  Looking forward to a wonderful trip.
