  • The library is closed to all students during the academic school day for the first three days of the semester. The library will reopen to students with passes on Friday, January 24th, and will be available before and after school until then. As a reminder, all students coming to the library from a Directed Study are expected to have a pass signed by both an academic teacher and their Directed Study teacher, and to come prepared to work on an academic assignment. Please feel free to speak to Ms. Stocker in the library with any questions.                
  • The Sunrise Movement is holding its biggest summit for high schoolers and middle schoolers interested in climate change mobilization--next month. They want to bring together hundreds of teenagers to learn key organizing skills, build relationships with each other, and lead the decade of the Green New Deal. Here are the details.
    • The 2020 High School and Middle School Summit is on February 15th-17th in Washington DC. Group housing and food will be provided, and need-based transportation scholarships are available.
    • The deadline to apply is Thursday January 16th, and you’ll hear back by January 17th so you can make plans to come.

  • Newsflash for the Class of 2021! During the last week of January Ms. Cuffee-Gray be visiting you in class to give an overview of the College Planning Process. You'll get the Junior Handbook, be invited to complete the Junior College/Career Survey, and then we'll open up for Junior College & Career Planning Meeting appointments during the first week of February. Know that completing the Junior Career/College Survey and that will be available the last week of January. Best thing you can do right now is focus on school and exams. GOOD LUCK!

  • Seniors! January 15th is another college deadline. Polish those college essay apples. Join Ms. Lewis and Ms. Cuffee-Gray in the Writing Center after school today.
    Also, double check to be sure you have requested transcripts (colleges and scholarships) and recommendation in Naviance.
  • What is a better way to celebrate being done with finals then coming to WinterfestThursday, January 16th from 7-10pm. Tickets are $6 at lunch and $8 at the door. Underclassmen can attend by upperclassmen invite only! Tickets will be sold starting today until Tuesday during all lunches. 
  • Looking to make a difference? Want to tackle and understand the different social issues that are challenging our community today? Want to become an advocate and be a leader within your community? Think about becoming a Restorative Justice Practitioner at ARHS. RJ Course will begin 2nd semester during G Period on Days 2, 4 and 6. Come make a difference in our community.
