The registration deadline for the October 7th SAT with no late fee is Friday, September 8th.  Please register at collegeboard.org.  Get a fee waiver from Mrs. Cappelli if you are registered for the free/reduced price meals program.

Attention everyone. The yearbook is looking for your photos from the summer. If you have any photos from the Great Wall of China, Down Under or Puffer's Pond, send them to yearbook@arps.org by next Friday. Thanks!

Reminder: Monday is Labor Day, so we have the day off. Tuesday will be Day 3.  If you want to add the cycle day calendar to your own calendar, here's how.  (You can return to Morning Announcements to do this over the weekend.)

Amherst College is looking to hire people to work in their dinding services.  See the Job book in guidance for information.  You must be 16

Sene-gambian Scholars are having their first meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 5thh in Ms. Iverson's room (179) from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M.  All students who are planning on going to Senegal and the Gambia in February must attend! See Ms. Iverson or Ms. Abdow if you have any questions.


The ARHS Theater Company is comprised of a wide array of students that like making big projects together.  And, we love love love new people.  You're invited to our Kickoff meeting this Friday after school in the auditorium.  Learn about fall plays, auditions, tech work and how to get caught up in it all.  No experience necessary!  See you then.

The Theater Company will be holding AUDITIONS for Briefsour annual cycle of 10-minute plays.  Auditions are easy, short and gets you a cookie at the end.  No preparation, experience or presumed talent necessary.  Come play!  Just pick up an information sheet on the auditorium doors about the details.  We'll hold auditions this Tuesday and Thursday in the Black Box after school.  See you then!

Class Elections will be held during Advisory on Sept. 14th.  Those who are planning on running for office must  attend a meeting with Ms. Haygood on Tuesday September 5th, 2017 at 3 P.M.

Distractology - ARHS is pleased to have a distracted driving simulator on campus the week of Sept. 5th.  for students who have previously registered, you will receive an appointment card from your advisor.  We have a few slots left.  Please see Mrs. Haygood after school in room 155 with questions

For Parents/Guardians:
9th Grade Chromebook Orientation sessions for parents/guardians will be offered  Friday, September 1 at 10 AM and 1 PM in Rm 161, for those able to attend during the work day.

An evening session will be offered before and after the 9th Grade/New Family Night  on September 11th , 6:30 PM and  8:00 PM. These sessions will be in the HS Library.

Open House for 9th Graders and New Students is
 August 24th from 9 AM to 1 PM

      Please join us on Thursday, August 24th. Come meet some other students, receive your schedule, and have a personalized tour of the building.  Plan to stay for about an hour.

Parents/Guardians: While your 9th Grader tours the building, Chromebook orientation sessions will be held in the HS Library beginning at 9:15, 10:15, 11:15, and 12:15.  Please plan to arrive on the hour with your student, so you will be able to attend the session that begins at 15 minutes past the hour.

Chromebooks will be issued to the entire 9th grade this year, and a parent/guardian orientation session is mandatory prior to their distribution. We hope to complete all orientations before the start of school.

Alternate sessions are also scheduled for Monday, August 28th at 6PM and 7PM.   (You need attend only one session.)
