It is time to sign-up for the Fifty-fifth Annual Mathematics Olympiad Competition that takes place on Thursday, October 19th  during Blocks B and C.   For details or to sign up see your math teacher or come to the math office in room 221.   There are 30 slots available first come, first serve.   Visit the website http://www.maml.org to see past competition questions and solutions. 

Youth Climate Summit is an all-day get-together of youth from various schools in the valley to both learn and plan actions related to Climate Change. Guest speakers will include Representative Solomon Goldstein-Rose and Professor Ezra Markowitz. The event takes place on November 17, at the Hitchcock Center and Arcadia wildlife sanctuary. You will miss the day of school, and all meals and transportation will be provided. The event is FREE. ARHS can bring a team of up to 10 people. To find out more, speak to your science teacher or to Mr. Shaw or Mr. Kropf.

Come to Women's Rights Club after school on Monday in room 115 to learn about our first project and design posters! As always there will be good food and good discussions. New people are always welcome! Contact Aviva Weinbaum with any questions.

Monday 10/16: You can’t run from our skele-puns….Halloween Dance, Friday, October 20th, 7-10 PM.  Games, costume contest with a winning prize valued at $30 to spend at GLAZED DONUTS and DANCING!!!!!!!!!  Tickets available at lunch.  $3 at lunch/$5 at the door.

October 23rd is photo retake day for any students and staff who did not have their picture taken for their I.D.

Come support the ARHS Chorale by eating homemade lasagna and hearing some great music during their annual Lasagna Dinner on October 19th! Seatings are at 5, 6, and 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 for students, staff, and seniors, and $12 for other adults. The earlier seatings may come close to selling out; you can reserve your spot by purchasing them in advance during lunch through Thursday.

October is National Disability Awareness Month.  Please take a moment to read the lawn signs created by our Special Education Parent Advisory Council last year and which are currently posted in front of the high school.

NEW! Conditioning Program - "When we fail to prepare, we prepare to fail."
The Athletic Department is sponsoring a six week conditioning program for indoor track, basketball, skiing, and anyone else who wants to get into shape. This is a good opportunity to get a jump on the competition. If you wait until the season starts it’s too late. 

The program will focus on the following areas: flexibility, mobility, strength, endurance, speed, and mental preparation. The program will be Mondaythrough Thursday from 3:15 until 4:30. Participants will be given a workout for Friday and Saturday to do on their own. 
The program will consist of running, hills, dynamic stretching, static stretching, cardio, and weight lifting.

Register through FamilyID.  Registration will be open October 2nd- October 6th, with the program beginning Tuesday, October 10th, pending the number of registrations. 
Register for Monday & Tuesday session and/or Wednesday & Thursday session.  The full fee cost of the program is $57, reduced lunch fee is $31 and free lunch fee is $26.   You can mail or drop off a check or pay online at   https://unipaygold.unibank.com/Default.aspx?customerid=1211

NEW! Conditioning Program - "When we fail to prepare, we prepare to fail."
The Athletic Department is sponsoring a six week conditioning program for indoor track, basketball, skiing, and anyone else who wants to get into shape. This is a good opportunity to get a jump on the competition. If you wait until the season starts it’s too late.
