• The French club is proud to announce that we will be starting our first ever book drive for elementary school students in Dakar, Senegal this week. Please consider bringing in any children's books (in French or English) you may have lying around, or any extra general school supplies you may have. Collection boxes can be found around the school. • It's time to AUDITION for the musical!  Auditions are TODAY, Monday and Tomorrow, Tuesday. All information you need on the auditorium doors.  Minimal prep is needed - and we love love love newcomers and/or folks with little experience on stage.  Come be a part of something you'll still talk about 10 years from now - see Mr. Bechtold, Mr. Fruth or Mr. Peterson with questions.

  Most of you will be receiving decisions for your early applications soon.  Be sure to update the outcome(s) in Naviance, as well inform either Ms. Garrity in the Guidance Office or Mrs. Tracy in room 309.  If you were accepted at an ED school or an EA school you plan to attend, please delete all other applications in your Naviance account.  If you were deferred on denied and need some guidance about your next step, make an appointment to see Mrs. Ross or your counselor for help.  Also, be sure to add all other schools to which you will be applying and that have January 1 deadlines in Naviance by December 19.  Don't forget to also request transcripts be sent to each, and to list those schools, if applicable, in your Common Application.

• This winter, UMASS is launching a new online Certificate Program in Film Studies, and it is open to high school students! You can take "Introduction to Filmmaking" taught from Spain by Catalan Filmmaker David Casals-Roma (course in English). The class is 3 credits, and will teach you all the basics of making a short film! Starts December 26th. See Guidance for details on how to enroll!

• This winter, UMASS is launching a new online Certificate Program in Film Studies, and it is open to high school students! You can take "Introduction to Filmmaking" taught from Spain by Catalan Filmmaker David Casals-Roma (course in English). The class is 3 credits, and will teach you all the basics of making a short film! Starts December 26th. See Guidance for details on how to enroll!

• TODAY marks the opening of The Laramie Project, a full-scale immersive adaptation of this award-winning play.  Performed in theaters all over the world - and many high schools in America - the show focuses on the residents of Laramie, Wyoming in the months following Matthew Shepard's killing in 1998.  The Theater Company and SAGA invite you to our original, site-specific staging around the rooms and halls of ARHS as you meet the residents of Laramie - and piece together the story of the town.  Shows start at 7:30 this TODAY -Saturday. Tickets are $5 for all students and are available online via the ARHS website or at the door

This Thursday after school at 2:30 in the Guidance office, you are invited to listen to some students from UMass Amherst Isenberg's Women in Finance Society present on why they choose to major in finance at Isenberg, and to talk about all the careers a business degree can lead you to. If you are awaiting an Early Decision outcome, you do not need to request transcripts until you have heard from your ED School.
