  • ARHS's annual Cabaret is this weekend, featuring many of your friends in fun skits and small group acts! The performances will be Friday and Saturday at 7:00 and Sunday at 2:00. Tickets are $5 for students and staff and $10 for adults. Desserts will be served. Come out to support the choral program in one of our biggest fundraisers of the year! Tickets will be sold at all lunches and at the door.
  • The Graphic staff will start layout of our next issue on Monday, January 7, after school in room 187! See you all there, staffers!

AMHERST-PELHAM REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL is happy to offer a Conditioning Program for the Winter 2018-19 season. This is open to both ARMS & ARHS students.
Where? ARHS Weight Room 
When? Monday & Wednesday 3:15 p.m.-4:30 p.m. or Tuesday & Thursday 3:15 pm - 4:30 p.m.
Dates - January 7, 2019 - March 7, 2019
Two Day Cost -     Full Fee $58        Reduced Lunch Fee $32           Free Lunch Fee $27 
Four Day Cost  -   Full Fee $116       Reduced Lunch Fee $64           Free Lunch Fee $54 
The Athletic Department is sponsoring an nine week conditioning program for spring sports, and anyone else who wants to get into shape. This is a good opportunity to get a jump on the competition. If you wait until the season starts it’s too late. The program will focus on the following areas: flexibility, mobility, strength, endurance, speed, and mental preparation. The program will be Monday through Thursday from 3:15 until 4:30. Participants will be given a workout for Friday and Saturday to do on their own. 
Families can register for Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday, or all four days.
The program will consist of running, hills, dynamic stretching, static stretching, cardio, and weight lifting.
Registration is open now.

This year we are basing our art theme on the original Goldbug yearbook from 1918; you will see flyers around the school with examples, and you can see hard copies by looking at the yearbook in the library. We are looking for a cover, headlines for sections (like Athletics, Class of 2019, Superlatives, etc), and comics that relate to life in the school. (We won't keep them forever, so come pick yours up!)
  • Musical auditions have come and gone, but your chance to be in the musical has not!  Did you know that we never cut anyone from the musical cast?  Rehearsals start January 7 - consider walking in to the auditorium after break and join this massive - and very enjoyable - way to spend your winter.
  • Any student interested in participating in the Black College Tour over April Break, please contact Ms. Custard (room 307) for an application as soon as possible. This week long tour is sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center in Springfield.

We will be watching a movie that's related to the book that we're reading currently, and eating yummy snacks as a send off before holiday break!     • Any student interested in participating in the Black College Tour over April Break, please contact Ms. Custard (room 307) for an application as soon as possible. This week long tour is sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center in Springfield. 
    • TOMORROW, December 20th, students are invited to gather in Room 169 from 2:30-3:30pm to discuss recent anti-Semitic events that have occurred in Amherst and in the world and they will  have an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns.  School and district administrators, School counseling staff, and Rabbi Benjamin Weiner from the JCA will be present for this student-led discussion.
    • The Outing Club will be offering hot drinks for your cold morning TOMORROW. Hot cocoa, cider or tea, only a dollar, and you can find out more about our winter backpacking program! Look for the table in front of the school, or at lunch, or come after school to room 225 for more information.
    • All of last year's ceramic work will be given away when we return from break. Even work from AR[T]HS! Please come check if you have anything left on the cart
    • The French club is proud to announce that we will be starting our first ever book drive for elementary school students in Dakar, Senegal this week. Please consider bringing in any children's books (in French or English) you may have lying around, or any extra general school supplies you may have. Collection boxes can be found around the school. Contact Jamie Simonson or Madame Cissé for any questions. Also, thank you so much to all who supported the French/Francophone Dinner. It was a great success. Merci!
    • ATTENTION SENIORS WHO APPLIED EARLY ACTION OR EARLY DECISION 

      Most of you will be receiving decisions for your early applications soon.  Be sure to update the outcome(s) in Naviance, as well inform either Ms. Garrity in the Guidance Office or Mrs. Tracy in room 309.  If you were accepted at an ED school or an EA school you plan to attend, please delete all other applications in your Naviance account.  If you were deferred on denied and need some guidance about your next step, make an appointment to see Mrs. Ross or your counselor for help.  Also, be sure to add all other schools to which you will be applying and that have January 1 deadlines in Naviance by December 19.  Don't forget to also request transcripts be sent to each, and to list those schools, if applicable, in your Common Application.
