- Do you like working with children, being outside, and have an interest in farming? Farm and Garden Camp in Amherst is looking for Counselors in Training to work at their fun and exciting program this summer. This is a paid position for students ages 15-18. Information on the position and how to apply can be found in the guidance office Job Book next to Ms. Garrity's desk.
- Seniors: If you are planning to attend GCC, you can take theAccuplacer test here next Tuesday after school. Sign up with Miss Garrity by Monday, Feb 4
- Seniors: If you are thinking about attending a community college next year, come to Decision Day presentations in Guidance. Tuesday, Feb 5, GCC; Wednesday, Feb 6, STCC; Thursday, Feb 7 HCC. Come to more than one if you are uncertain about which college is best for you. Sign up by this Friday with Miss Garrity for a time slot. Also, you must put the college in Naviance Colleges I’m Applying to and you must complete the college’s online application before you meet with the representative.
- Wednesday, January 30th is Fred Korematsu Day! Fred T. Korematsu was a national civil rights hero. In 1942, at the age of 23, he refused to go to the government’s incarceration camps for Japanese Americans. After he was arrested and convicted of defying the government’s order, he appealed his case all the way to the Supreme Court. Although the Supreme Court ruled against him, Korematsu’s growing legacy continues to inspire people of all backgrounds and demonstrates the importance of speaking up to fight injustice. - We now have school athletic apparel at the School Store. Come check it out. We are open everyday after-school.
- The Environmental Action Club is having a bake sale on TODAY, January 29. It will be outside the library after school at 2:20pm.
- The Literary Club will be meeting today (Monday, 1/28) after school in Room 174. New students always welcome!
- Student parking permits are available in the Deans Office, room 168. A permit for the Spring Semester is $38. Please pick up Parking Permit paperwork in room 168. Staff Parking Permits are available in the Main Office.
- Come support the ARHS Chorale by eating homemade lasagna and hearing some great music during their annual Lasagna Dinner on Thursday, January 31st! Seatings are at 5, 6, and 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 for students, staff, and seniors, and $12 for other adults. You can reserve your spot by purchasing them in advance during lunch.
