Wednesday, November 4, 2020

  • Having ducked last weekend's brief winter weather, the ARHS Theater Company will stage their outdoor production of Everybody this Saturday with shows at 6:00 and 8:00 pm.  Masks are required, as is buying tickets in advance.  You can get tickets at https://arhseverybody.bpt.me or contact Mr. Bechtold for a reservation.  Please note that we are likely to sell out our limited seats.
  • First staged in 2017, Everybody asks its audience to ask the big questions in life through a comic, empathetic lens in a way that aligns with our pandemic-ridden times.  Join us for a wonderful evening together under the stars with this gorgeous new play - and one more moment of live theater before 2020 comes to a close
  • November 3rd, 2020 was election day. This election is highly polarized and people feel strongly about the candidates and the many pressing issues we need to face as a nation such as racial injustice, COVID-19, economics, immigration, and environmental justice to name a few. The counseling department is hosting a Google meet space from 8:00-3:00 on Nov 4th for students to drop in as needed or desired to talk through their thoughts related to the election in a safe and supportive space. Students can join this Google meet by going to the "Meet" link in their Google apps and typing in ARHSelectionsupport
  • As you know, November 3rd, 2020 is election day. Unlike other years, we most likely will not know the results of the election when we return to school on November 4th.  This election is highly polarized and people feel strongly about the candidates and the many pressing issues we need to face as a nation such as racial injustice, COVID-19, economics, immigration, and environmental justice to name a few. We know that people in our community will be feeling a lot of different ways about this election and we want you to know that we will make space to discuss what's happening with the election and what it might mean in class today. For those of you in college classes or with a free block, you are welcome to join a conversation about the election with Ms. Ranker, Ms. Lewis, or Mr. Fontes during A, B, and C at this link: https://meet.google.com/lookup/eryhkfrkx3?authuser=0&hs=179. If you would like further support, you can also connect with the guidance department by using the google meet code "ARHSelectionsupport" anytime from 8-3. Please reach out for support as you need it, on 11/4 and beyond. We want to show up for each other with compassion, care, and respect as a community.
