  • FREE EVENT with YOUTH LEADERS in the GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE MOVEMENT.  There is an amazing series going on at UMass related to climate change.  Next Monday, on Feb. 1, the speakers at a free event include Vanessa Nakate, a climate activist from Uganda, and Varshini Prakash, exec director and co-founder of Sunrise (a youth activist group working on climate change and the Green New Deal).  It's an asynchronous class day, so you can attend!!    For more info and to register for free, go to:  https://blogs.umass.edu/feinberg/young-people-fighting-for-climate-justice/.   The entire series at the university has been taped and you can see past events at the 20-21 Feinberg Series, Planet on a Precipice at :https://blogs.umass.edu/feinberg/
  • If you or someone you know has lost someone close and are grieving, it can feel lonely, difficult to talk about, and confusing. Especially so in this isolating pandemic. Sometimes finding others our age who have the shared experience of the death of a loved one can help us process our grief and not feel so alone. We are starting a group at ARHS for this very reason! Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 23rd at 2:30 pm, we will be coming together as peers navigating loss to share our stories, support each other, and celebrate those who've died. This will be a space in which you can share freely if it feels right, or you can simply be present and listen to others, whatever brings you comfort. Please refer to this flyer attached and consider if you or someone you know may be interested. Please reach out to Becca Leavell (leavellr@arps.org) or someone at the school you trust if you have any questions or want more information about joining!
  • Cap & Gown Update - Seniors – if you have not done so yet, please order your cap & gown ASAP.  The deadline has been extended to January 31, and as of now there are still many of you who have not ordered.  Go to www.buildagrad.com to submit your information and place your order.  Balfour is the company we work with, and they need sufficient lead time to make sure they have enough supplies for everyone.  Please don’t delay.
