- Seniors...there will be voting for faculty marshals, student marshals and graduation speaker in lunch on Monday (5/6) and Tuesday (5/7). BE SURE TO VOTE!!!
- Climate change is a global emergency. We must act now or else we and all future generations will suffer. Come to a Green New Deal Sunrise Movement Town Hall to hear from community leaders, young activists, and policymakers about the climate crisis and what we can do, including the Green New Deal and youth groups such as the Sunrise Movement. The event will be held in the ARHS library on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 from 2 - 3:30 pm and will be hosted by ARHS and Amherst College students. Email johnsonnl@arps.org if you have any questions.
- All of Mr. Sears first semester painting students must pick up their work by Friday or it will be discarded.
- Memory Project final meeting today after school. Come watch the delivery video and pick up the printed copy of your portrait - plus planning for next year.
- The Amherst 4th of July Celebration is looking for volunteers for this year’s festival. If you are interested in contributing to a community event, filled with fun and festivities, while getting a front row seat to the fireworks, come assist the Amherst 4th of July Celebration. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community, and get a behind the scenes look at event-planning, in addition to free food and admission for all volunteers. - Come this year's Student Produced play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike directed by Sophia Schweik. Completely put on by students and one of the last productions of the year; this show is not one to miss! Shows are this Friday, May 3rd at 7:00pm and Saturday, May 4th at 2:30pm and 7:00pm. Tickets are $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults. Tickets will be sold at the door and at lunch. Students who receive free or reduced lunch or for whom cost affects their ability to go, talk to Mr.Bechtold!
- Juniors and Sophomores in Honors Chemistry and Honors Biology:
- Friday, May 3 is the last day to register for the June 1 SAT and subject tests with no late fee. Sign up at collegeboard.org. It is also the last day to register for the June 8 ACT with no late fee. Sign up for that one at actstudent.org. See Miss Garrity for a fee waiver if you are registered for free or reduced price lunch.
- Do you find yourself with little motivation to do SAT prep? Do you struggle to find good study materials? Do you want someone to explain confusing topics to you? If you answered “yes” or “maybe” to any of these questions, come to the first meeting of the new SAT prep program in the library on Thursday, May 2nd at 2:30pm! I'll be using this first meeting primarily to gauge interest, so if you can’t be there but are interested or if you have any other questions, please email Amanda Dee at deea@arps.org.
