A reminder: this Friday.(today)September 15, during B period, our entire school, with the help of Amherst Police Department, will practice our emergency response procedures, This will include lock down, shelter in place/barricading and sheltering in the event of a tornado warning. Our preparation here matters. Please be ready to focus for the entire period.'
PSAT REGISTRATION
The PSAT will be given here at ARHS on Wednesday, October 11, at 8:00 a.m. To register, sign up in the Guidance Office. Deadline to register is Friday, September 29th. The fee is $17 (cash or check payable to Amherst Regional high school), and fee waivers are available to income eligible 11th grade students only. Payment is required at the time of registration.
We strongly urge juniors to take the test. It's a great practice for the SAT which most of you will take in the spring. Sophomores may take the PSAT if they wish (however, there are no fee waivers available to 10th grade students).
Seniors - if you are very committed to community service, have demonstrated leadership abilities, going to college next year and have at least a 2.8 GPA, check out the Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship.
Seniors - Monday and Tuesday next week we will have representatives from 27 different colleges here! Please read the list in Naviance or on the school website or check the bulletin board in Guidance for which schools and what time. You'll need to get a pink pass from Mrs. Cappelli ahead of time to be able to leave class to attend any of these sessions. While you're checking the list, look at the other 100 colleges that will be here during the fall!
This is just a reminder - Photo Day is Monday, September 18th! All students and staff will need to have their picture taken on this day for their I.D. The students will be given more information on picture day.
Interested in being a part of organizing, leading, or just hanging out with Women's Rights Club this year? Please see Ms. Seltzer in room 115 before or after school, or email at: seltzerd@arps.org.
Senior NHS Members - Remember if you are interested in holding an NHS Officer role, please email your ballot blurb to Mrs. White by the end of the day today.
