Senior NHS Members: See you tomorrow afternoon in Room 117 at 3:00 p.m. for our first meeting of the year.

Are you looking to restore glory to the halls of Amherst Regional High School? Have you always wanted to be on television? Do you know too much for your own good? Then come and tryout for a place on our team for As Schools Match Wits, Southern New England's premier high school quiz show! It won't take you more than fifteen minutes — come to Mr Gould's room any time between 2:20 and 3:00 this Friday. There will be food! See Louis Triggs or Tessa Levensteen for details. 

Seniors!  So far, representatives from 84 different colleges are coming to ARHS this fall!  To see who they are and when they are coming, look in Naviance under the colleges tab and click on view all upcoming college visits.  You can also find the list on the Guidance Office bulletin board as well as the HS website under academics, guidance office, click on college and career planning, under Upcoming Events, upcoming college visits. Get a pass from the Guidance Office to get come to the visits.

Students for a Free Tibet Meeting on today, Wednesday, September 6 at 3:00 pm.  Please be prompt, we will meet in Rm. 127.  Planning for the coming year.  New members are encouraged to attend.

Mass Poetry is running a poetry contest in celebration of the centennial of John F. Kennedy's birth. The contest is open until October 6, 2017. Entries will be judged throughout October and November by MFA candidates, and finalists will be chosen by former US Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky and announced in late November. The JFK Library Foundation will host an event honoring all entrants, their teachers, and their families in early December. All winners and runners up will receive stipends with the intent to be used to further their education: High School Winner - $200; High School Runner Up - $150Poems must relate to the subject of John F. Kennedy in any number of facets – poems need not directly name John F. Kennedy but must relate to his life and/or work. 1 winner and 1 runner up will be selected from high school entries (grades 9 – 12). Students may submit only one original, unpublished poem for consideration. If you like hiking, camping, climbing, caving, or other outdoor activities, come to the first meeting of the ARHS Outdoor Program this Thursday, September 7, after school in room 225. Snacks and fun activities start at 3pm! No experience or commitment necessary!



The Theater Company will be holding AUDITIONS for Briefsour annual cycle of 10-minute plays.  Auditions are easy, short and gets you a cookie at the end.  No preparation, experience or presumed talent necessary.  Come play!  Just pick up an information sheet on the auditorium doors about the details.  We'll hold auditions this Tuesday and Thursday in the Black Box after school.  See you then!
