Outing Club meeting at 3:00 in room 225 on Thursday 9/21 . Information about a day hike to Mount Monadnock in New Hampshire, and the first meeting of "Outdoor Leadership" class. Speak to Mr. Kropf if you are interested but cannot attend the meeting.

Spirit Week  Begins Monday Sept. 25th and ends Friday, September 29th.

The Themes for each day are:
Monday - Pajama Day - dress like the weekend ! - wear pj's or sweats.
Tuesday - (Inter) National Day - wear clothing reflecting your culture or 2 colors of your nations flag!
Wednesday- Inside/Out Day - wear your clothing inside out !
Thursday - Clash Day - colors that don't match, outrageous socks, Red Sox and Yankees gear !
Friday - School Pride Day - wear maroon and/or something with ARHS /ARMS

Don't forget to stop by the FBLA table during your lunch to be counted.  You may also bring in a non perishable item for the Amherst Survival Center or $1.00 for Hurricane Relief for an extra point.
As always - you must adhere to our policy regarding appropriate dress.

Game Club is starting today in room 173.   It will run every Thursday from 3:00 - 3:45.   We welcome anyone and love to see old and new faces.  There are always a variety of games going on, electronic/board/card games, individual and group.  This year we'll like to be including Magic The Gathering and D&D so if you know these games, or would like to learn, please stop by.    Of course, we'll have snacks.  

The field hockey team would like to share with you how excited they are to have broken their three year losing streak of 39 games.  And are so excited about their win vs. Franklin Tech on Tuesday.  Please join in their excitement and come cheer them on today, after school, at 4 pm. vs.Turners Falls. Shout out to Rachel, Sora and Lindsey for their goals!  GO CANES!

Attention all students - Important Locker Announcement - Please bring a lock from home and place on your locker by this Friday, September 22nd.  - A school lock will be placed on all lockers after Friday, September 22nd.

"Next Week is ARHS Spirit Week and every class needs to show their spirit!  Monday is the first day and it's "Sunday Monday"!  Dress like it's the weekend: PJ's , bathrobes and slippers!  Check in during your lunch at the table in the cafeteria to earn a point for your class.  To earn an additional point, you can also either bring in a dollar for hurricane relief OR bring in a can to be donated to the Amherst Survival Center."

Girls: Do you like to help people and make the world a better place by solving problems and creating new things? Are you interested in learning more about fun and well paying careers in Engineering and Computer Science? See Ms. Blauner in Room 223 after school for more information about an all-day field trip on October 24th to attend UMass Amherst's  "Women in Engineering and Computing Career Day for High School Girls."

Join us in SAGA (Sexuality and Gender Alliance) this Thursday, after school in room 113. We will be kicking off the year together and beginning to plan for fun events! All are welcome. 

There will be an informational meeting for the Memory Project on Thursday(today) after school in room #208. Interested students should attend or should see Mr. Stauder if they can't make the meeting.

Seniors! Senior superlative ballots are due Friday at 3pm. Please return them to the yearbook drop box. If you need a new one, you can get one from the top of the drop box. Baby photos are due on Friday as well. Please email them to yearbook@arps.org. Questions? See Mr. Larcheveque in room 195. 

For the first time in more than three years, the theatre company is putting on a play by Shakespeare! On Monday and Tuesday, come to the auditorium and audition for Henry IV, Part I, a play about leadership, war, honour, and growing up. If possible, memorize a bit of the play to recite in your audition; if you can't, come anyway - we've got you covered. Don't miss the chance to take part in one of the most ambitious plays of the year! Contact Louis Triggs for details.


All student vehicles parked on campus must have a current parking permit. Parking permit applications are available in the Deans Office, Room 168. Parking permits are $75 for the year. Please return completed Parking Permit Application with your license and vehicle registration (to be photocopied), and a check for $75 made payable to ARHS by Sept. 22.

Community Action Youth Programs offer a variety of opportunities for youths in Hampshire County.  Some of the opportunities include workforce development skills where youths are supported to develop vocational skills and leadership skills.  There is also a Youth Empowerment Group in Northampton and a LGBTQ group that may be of interest to you.
