Day 4
E Period Lunch
Drop C

    • Feeling overwhelmed about finding sources for a paper? Google searches got you down? Stress no more! Please join Ms. Stocker and Ms. Lewis on Tuesday 3/12 from 2:30-3:00 in the HS Library for a mini-workshop on finding good academic sources and demystifying citations. Snacks will be served.
    • Throw it!  Sprint it!  Jump it!  Bop it!  All girls outdoor track and field athletes should meet Monday after school in Room 326 to propose goals, create a social calendar, and learn about the practice and meet schedule.  We want all kinds of athletes, big and small!  Bring friends and allies to swell the movement!  Best of luck this weekend to Sophia Jacobs-Townsley (Two mile and 5K) and the boys 4 X 400 and 4 X 200 relay team (Isaiah Moyston, Ben Fang, Junior Pontes da Veiga, and Kai Bailin) running at Nationals the weekend of 3/8-3/10!
    • Never fear! Time to make a chili is still here! The Class of 2020 will be hosting a Chili Cook-Off on March 15th from 6-7:30pm! Come to the Amherst Regional High School cafeteria to enjoy a night of fine chili tasting with entertainment provided by Conjunto De Bomba and the Hurricane Singers! Tickets are $5 to attend. Or for $5 contestants will prepare homemade chili and attend the event for free. Each chili will be tasted by a series of ARHS teachers who will award prizes for the best chili’s! If you are interested in entering or attending please contact Aarti Lamberg (Lambergac@arps.org) or Walter Tebbetts. Bring the Heat!
    • High school students and high school seniors who are enrolling in Holyoke Community College for Fall 2019 are eligible for free robotics and business/computer college courses this summer. Come to the guidance office and pick up the informational flyer for course details. Only these two HCC course sections are at no cost.
    • ***STCC and HCC*** field trip for Juniors and Seniors that was scheduled for Monday 3/4, has been re-scheduled to Monday, March 18. You will need to have a new permission slip signed, so please stop by guidance to grab one! Permission slips should be returned by Tuesday, March 12th to the guidance office. Pizza will be served when we arrive to HCC, so please bring a cold lunch if you don't want pizza. Any questions please e-mail cartwrightc@arps.org.
    • Students taking AP exams:  A preregistration session will take place after school on Tuesday, April 9 (there are late buses that day).  We will begin promptly at 2:25 and you should be done by 3:00, if everyone cooperates.  You cannot sit for AP exams if you do not complete pre-registration (with the exception of students taking only the AP Chinese exam).  Please put it in your calendars and let your coaches know ahead of time. Bring a sharp #2 pencil and your student ID# (the same number you use for the lunch room and the library).
    • SENIORS: Please, please remember to check your email daily! This is crucial to getting necessary information from school staff, colleges, and scholarships. Pay special attention to emails sent by Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Tracy, Miss Garrity, or Mr. Sadiq, as they often contain important deadlines, instructions, or opportunities!
    • Another reminder about the Reality Fair. The online information, at the link you received in several emails, must be filled out and the permission slip returned to guidance or room 207 by MONDAY MARCH 11th. If both of those things are not done by then, you WILL NOT be able to attend the Reality Fair on Thursday March 21st.
    • Students: Chances are; you know at least a handful of students in Tuck Everlasting.   They'd love to see you this weekend - and we've got a gem of a show to share!  Tickets available at lunch, online and at the door.  If you're on free/reduced lunch, tickets are just $5!  See Mr. Bechtold in the auditorium for those tickets or any other questions.
    • The Class of 2021 is now taking pre-orders for carnations and chocolate for students and adults who are not able to go to the winter musical but want to get a member of the cast a gift or would like to skip the line on the days of the shows. Talk to Seo-Ho Lee or Tulsi Patel for details or to order. Thank you.
