  • The Guidance Office is now home to two small, beautiful fish! Come by to meet them and enter our "NAME OUR FISH" contest! The winner will not only have naming rights for our new friends, but will win a bag of their favorite (nut-free) candy!
  • Girls interested in attending the October 24th Women in Engineering Career Day at UMASS: Permission Slips must be returned to Ms. Blauner in Room 223 by 3pm Friday afternoon (Oct 11). Questions? See Ms. Blauner!
  • It is time to sign-up for the Fifty-sixth Annual Mathematics Olympiad Competition that takes place on Thursday October 17th. For details and to sign-up, see your math teacher or come to the math office in room 221.  The deadline for signing-up is the end of school on Tuesday, 10/15.  There are 40 slots available first come, first serve.   Come to room 301 after school to get a copy of a past test and solutions.
  • Calling all National Honor Society members. NHS will have its first meeting this Friday (10/11) at 2:30 in room 117. Seniors and Juniors who are current members, please join me this Friday. This meeting is also for Seniors and Juniors who want to learn more about the National Honor Society and how to become a member.  Contact Ms. Clark at clarkb@arps.org with any questions. 
  • 19-20 yearbooks are available for pre-order at arps.picaboo.com! If you are on free/reduced lunch and would like to access a coupon code to purchase the yearbook at a reduced price, email Crystal Garrity at garrityc@arps.org.
  • Do you have pictures from Spirit Week, Homecoming, field trips, or clubs? Send them to the yearbook for review! You can email directly to garrityc@arps.org, share a Google Drive folder with Crystal Garrity, or upload directly to the Picaboo site at arps.picaboo.org!
  • Not School Sponsored: Curious to know what's going on in the Middle East right now? Interested in the Trump administration's foreign policy decisions? This Thursday (10/10), come to The New York Room at Mary Woolley Hall, Mount Holyoke from 7-9 pm for a chance to hear from renowned experts on US Foreign Policy in the Middle East, an event put on by Critical Connections and Mount Holyoke's IR department. Contact Hanna Hartman, Amelia McMahan, or Ms. Camera for more information.
  • The Sene-Gambian Scholars club will meet on Tuesday, October 15, at 2:30 in Room 147 to discuss fundraising for the exchange program. There will also be an informational meeting for students and parents about the spring trip to West Africa on Wednesday, October 16, at 6 p.m. in the library. Come and learn more about this life-changing experience.
  • "Not School Sponsored": Do you want to be a part of the national youth movement taking action against climate change? Join the Amherst Sunrise Strike Circle! Strike Circles are small groups that meet weekly to learn, plan, and recruit for the upcoming strike for climate action. To join, go to bit.ly/amherst-strike-circle. We hope to see you soon!   • PSAT’s are on Wednesday October 16th. Please check the bulletin board in the front lobby if you don’t remember which classroom you will be testing in. Also, remember to bring a calculator for the second Math test. You can NOT use your phone as a calculator for the PSAT’s
  • Senior Transcript Requests -The announced deadline for transcript requests in Naviance IS ONLY for Early Decision and Early Action applications. Please consult the calendar in the back of the College Planning Handbook for additional opportunities and deadlines. Generally, transcript and recommendation request deadlines are three weeks prior to the deadline.
    A message outlining the Early Decision/Early Action Deadline was sent via Naviance. Please check your Naviance and email accounts regularly as you will hear from the Guidance Office and colleges you are applying to in this manner.
