  • ARHS Senior Athletes
I’m hoping to publish a senior athletic showcase section in the newsletter at the end of this year. I am looking for student-athletes who plan to attend college next year and continue to participate in athletics. If you are one of them, can you please send me what school you are attending next year, along with your major and an action photo of you playing that sport that would be great. Please send information and photos to Ms. Stewart's email. Stewartv@arps.org
  • The 36th Annual Student-Written Play Festival is here!

This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00, come to the high school for a special all-outdoor pandemic edition of the Theater Company's longest-running tradition!  Featuring plays by over a dozen ARHS playwrights and a cast of nearly 30 actors, our show will be performed outside at ARHS in a special, intimate staging.  Tickets are first-come, first-served, so don't delay!  All ticket purchases must be made in advance so that we can plan for safe seating for all guests.

    Get your tickets here: bit.ly/arhssw21tickets

Got a question?  Check in with Sylvie Cove (coves@arps.org) or Mr. Bechtold for details (bechtolj@arps.org).
  • Schuman Scholarship applications open

The Joan E. Schuman Scholarship Fund was established to provide one or more one-time scholarships each year to special education students (with an IEP) graduating from schools in Franklin or Hampshire County, and moving on to a two-year or four-year higher education institution.

CES is seeking applicants for this year's Schuman Scholarship. The Scholarship is a one-time award of $500 toward educational costs or tuition at a 2 or 4-year higher education institution. Visit our website to learn more about the scholarship and application process.
Applications must be postmarked, emailed or submitted online by May 17th, 2021. Recipient(s) of this year's award(s) will be notified in early June.
  • India is currently facing a massive COVID crisis with a new strain that is killing many, with India logging global daily records of over 300,000 cases for the last five days. People are fighting to get ventilators and hospital beds and are forced to sell their belongings just to have a chance at surviving COVID. The International Students Club will be meeting this Tuesday at 3 pm to start working on fundraising projects to be able to donate money to groups that are helping in India. If you would like to learn more about this humanitarian crisis and/or would like to attend our meeting, please email Mira (setty-charityma@arps.org) or Rebekah (hongr@arps.org) to get the Google Meet link. We hope to see you there!
  • Women's Rights Club is collecting stories of sexual or verbal harassment that students at ARHS have experienced within our community. To emphasize the incredible importance of consent and anti-harassment education, and to show that Amherst is not exempt from issues of sexual harassment, we will use these stories in our Consent 101 video that will be shown in classes during late May.

These stories will be completely anonymous (no emails collected), and can range from cat-calling and crude comments to detailed, personal experiences, as much as you're comfortable. Fill out the anonymous form here: https://forms.gle/SxKQhfi9EFbGnfSc9
  • The Deadline for the Anti-Racist Art Project submission has been extended to Friday, May 7th. Please do not hesitate to contact Erin Edinson (edinsone1@arps.org) with any questions you may. We encourage any and all student engagement and want to remind that we are accepting both artwork and photography for this project!
