  • As you may or may not know, a member of our ARHS family lost their home and all belongings in a recent fire. We would like to extend a helping hand. Although we are asking for a monetary donation of $1.00 from each student, every penny will help. Please stop by during lunch at the cafeteria on TODAY
  • Not school sponsored: Want to learn about the climate crisis and the climate strike in Springfield on Dec. 6th? Stop by the table during lunch today to sign up for or discuss the strike, as well as learn about one of the drivers of the climate fight, a national youth-led movement called Sunrise Movement.
  • The Community Youth Action Club will be hosting a speaker from The Resistance Center for Peace and Justice on Thursday, 11/14 in Room 135 at 2:40. Please join us! The Resistance Center for Peace and Justice has been doing peace work for decades.Their campaigns are always changing to properly address the changing culture of militarism in the United States. They are excited to share their latest campaigns with you!   
  • Do you like metal music? Do you play an instrument? Are you looking to join a band? If you play electric guitar/bass, drums, or can sing in the style of thrash metal/hardcore punk, contact Nakos Maroudas-- maroudasna@arps.org --to audition. Our band is called Defcon: Dead, and we could use a few more musicians to help bring thrash back to Hurricane Nation!
  • Did you know: menstrual products are some of the most requested, yet least donated, items at most homeless shelters?? Women's Rights Club is running a TAMPON AND PAD drive all month! All donations will benefit the Amherst Survival Center so that hygiene products can be available to all that need it!Look for the signs and boxes located at the school to donate what you can. Donations should be in sealed boxes or packages. Drive will be up until the end of the month.
  • JETS ClubStudents interested in a Fun and Challenging Engineering Competition: Its time to start organizing this spring's TEAM+S Competition! Pick up a short form from the bulletin board in the Science Hallway (across from Room 218). Fill it out and return it to Ms. Blauner in Room 223 after school THIS WEEK.
  • Pre-season meeting for everyone interested in Girls Basketball this winter will be this TODAY at 3 pm.  The meeting will be taking place in the gym.
  • Are you daydreaming of summer on these cold November days? Consider becoming a lifeguard for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation for the summer of 2020! Must be 16 years of age by June and be able to complete lifeguard training and CRP/First Aid training. Lifeguard positions are 40 hours a week, $15/hour from June 26th-Labor Day. Information available in Guidance.
  • There is still time to make a cake for the Cake Auction that will be held during E period lunch on Thursday, November 14th. Please bring your beautiful and tasty cake to room 154 on TODAY morning along a description of the cake, who made it and an ingredients list (NO NUTS). Remember to bring money and get ready to outbid your friends, the highest bidder for each cake gets to enjoy it!!   • The Theater Company is excited to present Briefs - a series of contemporary 10-minute plays directed and acted by ARHS students.  If you like performances that are short, sweet, and always surprising, come by ARHS this Thursday-Saturday for a 7:30 show..  Tickets are $5 for students and staff; free/reduced lunch tickets are available by request to Mr. Bechtold.  Seats are first-come, first-served.  See you there!                                                                                   
  • SENIORS! TOMORROW is the next application deadline: (you should submit recommendation and transcript requests three weeks prior to your deadlines.If you have any questions about your recommendations for teachers and/or transcripts for the Guidance Team, please interact with grace and aplomb. & BREATHE FREE MONEY FOR COLLEGE - check your Naviance messages for links to scholarships.
