  • It's Wellness Wednesday!

This week our Wellness Wednesday Tip is: Give Yourself a Shout Out! Congratulations on making it to week 3 of the school year! You are doing it! Just keep taking it one day at a time! We are all here to support you!

Sometimes as we go through our days it can be easy to forget to pay attention to the things we've done throughout the day that are AWESOME.

So, this week, we challenge you to spend a few minutes each day to think of at least 1 thing you've done during the day that you are PROUD OF!

Why is this important? Well, it's easy to focus on the negative (our brains are actually wired this way… it's called the Negativity Bias), which can affect us in BIG WAYS.

So, taking a few minutes for yourself each day to point out a SPECIFIC thing you did that was helpful & positive can help fight back against this negativity bias and help to see the positive things that we may miss.

You can try it right now! Do it every day. And notice its impact. I bet you will find a bit of a SPRING in your STEP after a few days.

Want to read more about the Negativity Bias and ways to decrease its influence?

We also welcome ANYONE (teachers, staff, students, entire classes, clubs, etc!) to reach out to share ideas and tips, too. Email us! Michaela Paul (MSW Intern)  paulm@arps.org  OR Hannah (School Adjustment Counselor) carusoh@arps.org
